The Amaryllis ‘Sumatra’ is a cultivar of the Amaryllis flower (scientific name: Hippeastrum), known for its striking and unique blooms. The flowers are large, trumpet-shaped, and have overlapping petals with a deep maroon-red base color and a narrow band of white around the edges of the petals.

Each stem of the ‘Sumatra’ cultivar typically produces 2-4 large flowers, which can be up to 8 inches in diameter. The stems themselves can grow up to 20-24 inches tall and are quite sturdy, able to support the weight of the large blooms.
